Bao Viet to become largest Vietnamese firm
BAO VIET HOLDINGS will become the largest firm to list on the Vietnamese main bourse this year, when its shares debut next
week. Local reports suggest that the move could entice foreign investors to Vietnam’s stock market which has been recovering
strongly from the economic slump. Bao Viet is Vietnam’s largest insurer, of which
HSBC holds a 10% stake. It has been given the go-ahead to list 573 million shares on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange next Thursday.
