High Court rejects RTA Portal costs challenge

In a move that has been the cause of some concern, the High Court has held that fixed recoverable costs for claims of up to £10,000 processed through the RTA Portal will be reduced from £1,200 to £500. The challenge by APIL and MASS was rejected on 1 March, with the ruling that the government’s decision to bring about a large reduction in portal fees had been correctly made.
