NHS fined over death
The NHS was fined £40,000 after an 82-year-old man riding a mobility scooter fell 3.7 m to his death when a barrier on a walkway
collapsed at Fareham health centre in Hampshire. His scooter collided with a wooden weather screen placed around the main
entrance, a section gave way and the mobility scooter fell through the gap onto a footpath below.
