Around 17.5 million people in south Asia were victims of 2020 monsoon floods that left one-third of Bangladesh under water,
as reported by ABC News. Among the victims were four million children and, tragically, more than 700 deaths, according to
Unicef. China suffered 219 deaths, with 63 million people affected and economic losses of $26bn, The Watchers said. Japan
also endured 155 deaths and the evacuation of two million people after flooding in July, the BBC reported.
