Awareness is the first step towards fighting human trafficking

The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimates 40.3 million people are in modern slavery. It means there are 5.4 victims of modern slavery for every 1,000 people in the world. One in four victims of modern slavery are children. 1 Sadly human trafficking is “big business” with profits of roughly USD$150 billion a year for traffickers, according to the ILO report from 2014. 2
