Lawyers, not class members, benefit from monetary settlement awards in US

Only a small fraction of class members receive any monetary benefits from US federal consumer fraud class action settlements, and in claims-made settlements, class members as a whole receive on average less than 30 per cent of any monetary award. This is the conclusion of an update by US law firm Jones Day to its 2020 analysis of federal consumer fraud class action settlements.
