Low-value data breach claim sees ground-breaking ruling

A ground-breaking ruling in a low-value data breach claim has been secured by DAC Beachcroft’s Cyber & Data Risk team. The judge ruled that a low-value data breach claim should be simplified and allocated to the small claims track. The judgment is expected to avoid over £50,000 in claimant legal fees for a claim that the claimant had capped at £3,000.
