Caveats under the Non-Contentious Probate Rules 1987

The lodging of a caveat in the estate by the person challenging the will, service of a warning by the person seeking to propound, and entrance of an appearance thereafter will often constitute the first shots fired in a probate dispute. Matters will stall, precipitating the inevitable lengthy correspondence before a party takes the next active step, in the absence of agreement, of progressing the probate claim.
