ATRA report highlights use of public nuisance litigation

The American Tort Reform Association (ATRA) has warned that “a little-known legal tool is being utilised as the basis to pin the blame on businesses for societal ills, including Covid-19.” The legal tool in question is “public nuisance” and it is increasingly being used to sue companies for allegedly causing various environmental and social harms, according to ATRA.
