Personal Injury Compensation
Causation and damages
Morrow v Shrewsbury Rugby Union Football Club Ltd [2020] EWHC 379 (QB)
The High Court has considered issues of causation and damages arising in a case involving a tragic accident in which a spectator
at a rugby match who was diagnosed with an “eggshell personality” suffered head injuries when a goal post fell on him during
a game. The spectator claimed damages to cover loss of earnings arising from the fact that the accident had exacerbated a
pre-existing somatoform disorder, forcing him to give up his pre-accident employment.
