US INSURTECH ANALYTICS FIRM BETTERVIEW RAISES ANOTHER $7.5M

US insurtech and artificial intelligence start-up Betterview has completed another funding round, raising $7.5m and boosting its total investment capital to $17m. The round was led by venture capital firm ManchesterStory Group, with the participation of Guidewire Software, Nationwide, EMC Insurance Cos, Maiden Re, Compound, Winklevoss Capital and Chestnut Street Ventures. Betterview intends to use the new funding to widen the capabilities of its remote property intelligence platform, which uses drones, artificial intelligence and other technology to capture and analyse data on buildings and other properties for property/casualty insurers. The company currently serves 20 insurers.
