On 13 July 2020, Law no112/2020 for amending and supplementing the provisions of Law no 84/1998 ontrademarks and geographical indications in Romania entered into force. The new trademark law transposes the provisionsof EU Directive 2015/2436, aligning the Romanian trademarks legislation withthe EU legal framework.
