TTAB rejects .sucks' trademark application attempts

Sought-after mark rejected after board finds it ‘fails to function as a trademark’; consumers would perceive the mark as a gTLD and not as a source identifier

Vox Populi, the company behind the .sucks domain registry, has been denied US trademark protection for the domain extension name, after the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) found it “fails to function as a trademark”.
