HUB AND HILB MAKES ACQUISITIONS IN ALABAMA AND MICHIGAN

North American broking group Hub International has acquired the assets of Shields Insurance Agency, an Alabama-based independent intermediary that provides tailored personal and commercial insurance solutions to clients across the Gulf coast. Shields chief executive Bry Shields and his team will join Hub Gulf South, reporting to regional president Shaun Norris. “The addition of Shields Insurance Agency solidifies Hub’s position as the leading risk management firm in the South Alabama marketplace,” said Norris. Meanwhile, US broker The Hilb Group has acquired Owen Moore Insurance Agency, a Michigan-based full-service property/casualty intermediary providing commercial and personal lines cover to clients in the state. Randy Moore and his team will join Hilb’s Midwest regional operation. Terms of the two deals were not disclosed.
