LEGACY START-UP MARCO APPOINTS HEAD OF M&A

Legacy start-up Marco Capital Holdings has appointed Zsolt Szalkai as head of mergers and acquisitions. He joins from Premia, where he acted most recently as president of its European operations. Before joining Premia, he worked for Darag, where he spent eight years. “Zsolt is recognised as a pioneer in the modern European property/casualty [P&C] run-off industry,” Simon Minshall, chief executive of Marco, said. “His experience, capabilities, professionalism and network will be a substantial asset to Marco.” Szalkai will become a member of Marco’s executive management team. Malta-based Marco launched last year with €500m ($606.5m) of committed initial equity capital and a focus on UK, European and Lloyd’s P&C business.
