UNIVERSAL NAMES BURNS AS PRESIDENT OF BLUE ATLANTIC UNIT

US property/casualty group Universal Insurance Holdings has appointed Jason Burns as president of its Blue Atlantic reinsurance broking unit. Burns joins from Chubb Tempest Re, where he served 14 years as a property catastrophe and property pro rata underwriter in Bermuda and the US, most recently as head of the US pro rata and risk portfolio out of its office in Stamford, Connecticut. Prior to Chubb Tempest Re, he served as property treaty underwriter with OdysseyRe. Blue Atlantic facilitates placement and management of reinsurance programmes for underwriting carriers by partnering with third-party reinsurance brokers.
