Recent IASB publications

The IASB has recently issued a number of documents, some of which are for comment, others for information. The consultation documents include two resulting from recent project work, one for rate-regulated companies, and the other on business combinations under common control. A third document seeks input for the post-implementation reviews of the suite of consolidation standards. The documents issued for information fall under the broad heading of educational material. One has been issued to help companies that are preparing their results for calendar year 2020, and are faced with difficulties in making their assessments of their ability to continue as a going concern. The second document covers the effects of climate-related matters on financial statements, which is related to an article published by a board member at the end of 2019 (WAR, December 2019/January 2020). This article provides an update on all the documents with the exception of the last one, which will be reviewed in a forthcoming edition.
