Tribunal to rule on FCA decision to ban IFA convicted of sexual grooming of a child
By Neasa MacErlean
The Financial Conduct Authority has published its
decision notice against an independent financial adviser who was convicted of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming. In response
to the conviction and sentencing (to 22 months in prison, suspended for 18 months), the regulator deemed him not to be a fit
and proper person — and decided to withdraw his approval to perform his current senior management functions as well as to
make an order prohibiting him from performing any functions in relation to regulated activity.
