A year since starting its global spread, the Covid-19 pandemic is still persistent and continues claiming many lives. As at
8 March 2021 this virus had infected more than 116 million people and claimed 2.5 million lives worldwide. The pandemic almost
brought the world economy to a halt as authorities introduced strict measures to limit movement of people, vehicles and cargoes
to contain its spread. This has slammed the brakes on daily business and industrial activities, adversely affecting international
trade and sending the economies of many countries into a state of tumult.
