Vossius’ Johann Pitzreviews Germany´s new law for patent proceedings

In itsfinal reading on 11 June 2021, the German Bundestag approved the Second PatentModernization Act as proposed by the Committee on Legal Affairs and ConsumerProtection. The new provisions include the implementation of proportionalityreservations for cease-and-desist injunctions by amendment of section 139 (1)German Patent Act (GPA) as well as the synchronisation of nullity and infringementproceedings by amendment of section 83 GPA. In addition, a new provision forthe protection of trade secrets has been approved.
