The European Commission has invited EFRAG to develop standards on sustainability reporting. The organisation will be working to a tight timetable, as it is expected to provide the Commission with its first batch of standards by the middle of 2022, and the remaining ones just a year later. Once EFRAG delivers the standards, the Commission will adopt them into European Union (EU) law.
