Shipping remains on high alert for drone attacks

The threat of drone attack against ships operating in the Middle East Gulf remains a serious concern for shipping companies with no viable protection measures available to protect crew, writes Richard Meade of Lloyd’s List

Three months after the fatal drone attack on the Liberia-flagged product tanker Spring Street – previously named Mercer Street – shipping companies remain on high alert for potential unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks, but with limited security options at their disposal.
