GENERALI ENTERS EXCLUSIVE TALKS TO ACQUIRE LA MÉDICALE

Generali has entered into exclusive negotiations with Crédit Agricole Assurances over the acquisition of La Médicale. Generali said the acquisition represents a “key strategic opportunity for growth” in line with its ‘Generali 2021’ strategy. The transaction would strengthen Generali’s health and protection lines and property/casualty business in France, the Italian insurer said. With annual premiums of €552m, La Médicale provides insurance to healthcare professionals in France through a specialised network of almost 125 general agents across 45 agencies. The transaction is expected to close mid-2022.
