10.1 This chapter is structured in three main parts. First, the rules used to identify double insurance (which are also relevant to contribution); secondly, a more detailed discussion of the assured’s rights where double insurance arises and, thirdly, a consideration of insurers’ rights to contribution. A brief examination of the foreign element follows in a fourth section. Each section contains a check list at the end.
