The plaintiff, Batavia EXIMP & Contracting (S) Pte Ltd claimed to be the holder of four bills of lading for the carriage of New Zealand pine logs on the basis that it had extended financing to Amrose Singapore Pte Ltd for the purchase of the cargo and taken the bills of lading as security.
