Withdrawal of life support

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust v Fixsler and Others [2021] EWHC 2664 (Fam); [2021] Med LR 593

A case returned to the Family Division of the High Court in October 2021, several months after it was first heard because a further dispute had arisen between the parties. The point in issue in the instant litigation was the location in which life support should be withdrawn from a baby, Alta Fixsler, by way of extubation. The parents continued to believe that it was fundamentally wrong to withdraw Alta’s life-sustaining treatment, and that it would be a grave sin against God to do so.
