Arrest of vessel - Amount of bail to be posted

The issue was the amount of bail to be posted for the release of the vessel Necat A . In the statement of claim the plaintiff alleged that the defendant shipowner was in breach of charter in failing to direct the vessel to proceed to Eilat in Israel for the loading of a phosphate cargo which the plaintiff had undertaken to transport to India. The statement of claim sought (a) damages of $336,954 for loss of profit as a result of its inability to execute the cargo shipment from Eilat, (b) damages of $138,920 for toll fees incurred to transit the Suez Canal during the redelivery of the ship, and (c) the hire statement balance of $114,387 owing by the defendant.
