Shiprepairing contract containing provision for liquidated damages if work delayed - Whether recoverable where owner contributes to delay

The plaintiff shiprepairers carried out certain repair work on the defendants’ vessel Cape Hatteras , including repairs to the crankshaft. The plaintiffs claimed payments for the goods and services supplied. The defendants counterclaimed liquidated damages for delay in completing the work.
