IMPLEMENTATION
ENTRY INTO FORCE
The purpose of this Code is to provide an international standard for the safe management and operation of ships and for pollution prevention.
On 1 July 1998 the provisions of this Code became mandatory. Any future amendments to the Code will be adopted, brought into force and will take effect in accordance with the provisions of Article VIII of the SOLAS Convention.
