The volume of information, and in particular information that relates to living individuals, that insurers and insurance brokers deal with on a daily basis has increased exponentially over the past decade. In addition, following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Data Protection Act 2018 (“2018 Act”), the number of requirements which insurers and insurance brokers must comply with has equally grown exponentially.
