Contractual lien exercised in respect of demurrage accrued on previous voyages - Whether lien exercisable under Asbatankvoy form adapted for consecutive voyages

The other issue before the High Court concerned demurrage on the last voyage. The vessel was ordered to discharge on the eighth and last voyage at Bombay. She arrived and gave notice of readiness on 23 January 1982. The notice was accepted by the receivers but at 11 15 the discharge operation was halted when the owners exercised their lien under the charterparty in respect of their claims for demurrage for detention arising out of the previous seven voyages.
