AGE KORSVOLD TO LEAVE NORDIC P/C INSURANCE GROUP IF...
The Nordic region’s largest p/c insurer, Swedish-Norwegian group If..., has made changes to its board ahead of its planned initial public offering in the first half of 2001. If..., which is co-owned by Swedish financial services group Skandia and Norway’s Storebrand, said that its board chairman Age Korsvold was leaving his post. Mr Korsvold, who was also formerly chairman of Storebrand, is being replaced by Johan Fredrik Odfjell, a board member of Skandia and member of boards of several other companies. Skandia’s press manager Birgitta Hammarstrom said that the changes “bring fresh expertise into the company and prepare for its broader ownership in the future”. If... also said that Skandia’s chief executive Lars-Eric Petersson would leave the board and would be replaced by Jon Giverholt, CFO of Norway’s Tiedemann Group. Meanwhile Skandia today reported a 45% jump in nine-month operating profit for its core business to SKr5.3bn, with sales up 62% to SKr154bn.
