£81,450 mesothelioma award

The widow of a man who died from malignant mesothelioma of the pleura has received £81,450 in compensation. He had been exposed to asbestos dust and fibres when working as an apprentice marine engineer fitter. He was exposed to asbestos dust and fibres when fitting and erecting the main and auxiliary machinery onboard ships. He recalled working alongside laggers who were applying asbestos insulation in the boiler room onboard the ship.
