Wigs on Trial Again

The Bar Council is to consult barristers and the public as to whether the wearing of wigs by barristers should be abolished and will inform the Lord Chancellor of the result. According to The Independent of 12 December a spokesman for the Lord Chancellor’s Department said the Government would need to see strong support from the public and the legal profession before it agreed to abolition.
