Litigation Letter

Judicial Reading Time

From 11 January a reading list together with an estimated length of reading time and an estimated length of the hearing signed by all advocates must be prepared in all matters where the lodging of bundles is required in both the Chancery and Queen’s Bench Divisions. It is the responsibility of the claimant/applicant to ensure these requirements are complied with. In the event that there is a disagreement as to the reading list and/or the estimates of length, then separate reading lists and/or estimates are to be signed by the appropriate advocate. The advocate’s name, business address and telephone number should be provided underneath the signature in all cases. Parties are reminded of their obligation to lodge bundles in accordance with the guides and rules.
