Cohabiting Solicitors Removed

In Re L (Minors) (Care Proceedings: Cohabiting Solicitors) (TLR 27 July FD)

In care proceedings Miss T represented the local authority and Mr P represented two of the respondents, Mr and Mrs B. Miss T and Mr P were solicitors who were cohabiting. Counsel for the mother, Miss L, raised the issue that such representation could result in the local authority embarking upon a presentation of matters relating to Mr P’s clients with a favour unmatched in their presentation of matters relating to the mother.
