‘Plea Bargaining’ by Experts

According to a survey carried out by Bond Solon among nearly 200 experts, including doctors, accountants, architects and engineers, about one in ten had been asked by the lawyers or another party’s expert to alter an opinion in return for the opposing expert altering his or hers, for a quick result. A benefit from the CPR that emerged is that some 30% of the experts said they are now required to give less oral evidence than before.
