Barristers
Suing for Fees
It is a myth that barristers cannot sue for fees. Not only can they sue, they should be allowed to claim interest when solicitors
don’t pay up, says Bar chairman, Jonathan Hirst QC. He tells the profession in the Bar newsletter that if barristers want
to enter into a contractual arrangement with solicitors, they can. A new draft contract is out for consultation with the right
to claim interest a feature.
