Publishing Interview with Ward of Court

Re K (A Minor) [2000] All ER (D) 1312 FD

K, a minor, left home to join a movement known as the ‘Jesus Christians’. He was made a ward of court and the assistance of the media enlisted to ascertain his whereabouts, which were completely unknown although he did communicate with his grandmother, who had care of K, and members of the media by way of e-mail and telephone. The grandmother became concerned lest the media coverage resulted in K ceasing contact with her and going underground. She obtained an injunction curtailing further media coverage emanating from K or representatives of the Jesus Christians.
