Dismissal for pornography

Thomas v Hillingdon LBC (EAT TLR 4 October)

The employee had been dismissed on the ground of gross misconduct for using an office computer to access hard-core pornography during working hours. The Employment Tribunal had found the dismissal to be unfair, but had reduced the employee’s compensation by 30% for contributory fault.
