Going up!

The statistics for company winding up, and creditors’ and debtors’ bankruptcy petitions during the third quarter of 2002 continued the upward trend. There were 3,084 company winding up petitions showing an incredible increase of 45% on the petitions in the same quarter of 2001. The comparable figures for creditors’ petitions were 3,989, an increase of nearly 16%, while debtors’ petitions at 3,995 showed an increase of 5%. The total number of company winding up petitions for the first three quarters of the year is almost as much as for the whole of 2001.
