LSC self-assessment

The Community Legal Service (Funding) Order 2000 and the Civil Legal Aid (General) Regulations 1989 are to be tabled shortly to provide that all legal aid-only bills for £2,500 or less will be assessed by the Legal Services Commission from 1 July 2003. These will include Family cases and it was intended that the remaining legal aid-only bills will be dealt with by the Legal Services Commission from April 2004.
