In re B (a child) (disclosure) [2004] EWHC 411 (Fam); NLJ 2 April

After the making of a final care order it became apparent that the mother and her solicitor had made disclosures to a number of persons including journalists, the Solicitor-General (the solicitor’s sister) and the Minister of State for Children. The local authority applied for mandatory orders to compel both the mother and her solicitor to provide full details of the disclosures made to third parties pursuant to s12 of the Administration of Justice Act 1960. The mother sought an order contra mundum to permit her to sell her story to the media.
