In re B (a child) (disclosure) [2004] EWHC 411 (Fam); NLJ 2 April
After the making of a final care order it became apparent that the mother and her solicitor had made disclosures to a number
of persons including journalists, the Solicitor-General (the solicitor’s sister) and the Minister of State for Children. The
local authority applied for mandatory orders to compel both the mother and her solicitor to provide full details of the disclosures
made to third parties pursuant to s12 of the Administration of Justice Act 1960. The mother sought an order
contra mundum to permit her to sell her story to the media.
