Litigation Letter
DVT concession
After 24 of the original 25 claimants had discontinued their action against British Airways for damages for suffering deep-vein
thrombosis on long-haul flights, BA has said that if permission to appeal to the House of Lords is granted it will pay its
own legal costs if it wins. Explaining the decision, a BA spokesman said: ‘We believe that the British courts made the correct
decision on the DVT cases last summer.’
