A single Civil Court?

The Department of Constitutional Affairs’ consultation paper A Single Civil Court? considers the potential for unifying the civil and family jurisdictions of the High Court, the county courts and the family proceedings courts. One proposal is to abolish the county court with all civil powers, procedures and judiciary being in the High Court, which would embrace the present jurisdiction of the county court.
