Most claims are not ‘try-ons’

In his inaugural speech as the new president of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Alan Gore QC said that according to APIL research, insurers only admitted liability in 37% of cases under £5,000 which were won by APIL members. Insurers and their lawyers have got to stop thinking that every claim is a ‘try-on’ – the overwhelming majority are not. Insurers must embrace early and effective rehabilitation by early and effective interim payments.
