Pastouna and another v Black [2005] EWCA Civ 1389; NLJ 2 December

The instant case was one in which the appellant had been assisted from public funding in bringing her renewed application for permission to appeal. Solicitors and counsel had come all the way from Liverpool for the 10.00am appointment. It could very easily have been conducted by VCF between the Court of Appeal and Liverpool. The existence of VCF was announced in the last annual report of the Court of Appeal and the existence of the facility was also explained, with details of all the arrangements which needed to be made, on the Court of Appeal website ( www.civilappeals.gov.uk )
