No duty to mitigate loss of rent

Reichman and another v Gauntlett and another CA TLR 4 January

The defendants were solicitors who leased an office from the claimants for five years. They ceased to practice after three years and had no further need for the offices. They did not pay the rent due and the claimants sued for the back rent. The defendants claimed that the landlords had failed to instruct agents to market the premises, or to accept the offer of a prospective tenant.
