Costs against insurers

Palmer v (1) MIB; (2) PZ Products; (3) Royal & Sun Alliance & others[2008] EWCA Civ 46

The appellant Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) insured the second defendant (PZ) and had financed its unsuccessful liability defence to the claim. The other defendants had admitted liability and one of the co-defendants, the MIB, had made a Part 36 offer to accept a contribution of £300,000 from PZ and to meet the whole of the remainder of the claim. This offer had been rejected.
