£75,000 in compensation for mesothelioma

A former mechanic has received £75,000 in compensation after he was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos when servicing large trailers and in particular, checking the brakes and changing the brake pads where required. To change the brake pads he had to drill or chisel the rivets and then chamfer the new brake linings to size, causing asbestos dust.
